Converge - Dark Horse

This is probably the best song of the year so far, I swear I jizz a little every time I hear it. It's seriously so good, cannot wait for this album. It's got this awesome techy lead line that is actually kind of (dare I say) melodic and really quite impressive musically which then goes onto this pretty monstrous breakdown and is ultimately just all kinds of awesome.

Oh, Sleeper - Son Of The Morning

The new song from Oh, Sleeper's upcoming album Son Of The Morning. It sounds really promising, lots of awesome guitarwork and the like, definitely a step up from the previous album. I'm actually quite looking forward to the full thing now, it'll be interesting to see if the rest of the album is as good as this song.

At The Throne Of Judgment - The Diabolist

I was a fan of their previous work and I'm anticipating this next album. Does anyone know if they acquired a new screamer? It sounds a bit different to me. Anyway its generic ATTOJ...nothing new or exciting...but its good! Check it out!

Comerica - Breather

I had a request for this song a while back. I stumbled upon Comerica ages ago (before Brennan left to joing Oceana) and was blown away by their talent. "Breather" is an amazing song. These kids were doing everything right...then left for college. Hopefully they pick up soon. Check it out.

Arsonists Get All The Girls - Saturnine

Here is the new song from Arsonists Get All The Girls upcoming full-length Portals, per request. Its a pretty good song...vocals remind me a lot of Blythe from Lamb of God...is it just me? Anyway, check out the song...and pick up Portals when it drops.

Emarosa - Heads or Tails? Real or Not (Acoustic)

No one can deny that Jonny Craig is a vocal superstar in the post-hardcore community, and this acoustic version of their song "Heads or Tails? Real or Not" continues to separate him from the rest of the pack. Give it a listen, I know you will enjoy it.

Maylene and the Sons of Disaster - III [2009]

Now, I know its not the new Miss May I, but maybe the new Maylene and the Sons of Disaster can hold you over. Haven't listened to the whole thing yet but, III is essentailly II 2...what?...III is a perfect sequel to II, having many, if not all, of the componants that made II as awesome as it was. Southern Metal at its finest. Check it out.

Miss May I - A Dance With Aera Cura

Miss May I strikes gold with this new song from their debut Apologies Are For The Weak. I am very pumped for this album. Similar to Bring Me The Horizon, and The Devil Wears Prada. Catchy and heavy, I'm sure these guys will blow up when their debut hits. I know I will be picking it up, and I urge you all to do the same.

Haste The Day - Long Way Down

So this cover isn't even remotely new (from 2005's When Everything Fails), but it came up when listening to my Zune on random, so I figured I'd throw it up. Here is Haste The Day covering The Goo Goo Dolls' "Long Way Down." Even my Dad likes this cover.

Rise Against - For What It's Worth

*RE-POST FROM TWO DAYS AGO. LINK NOW FIXED. MY BAD. -JackJuice*

Tim McIlrath turns it down for a few minutes here to sing a stripped-down version of Buffalo Spingfield's "For What It's Worth" for AOL Sessions Undercover. It wouldn't be Rise Against if they weren't protesting something. The song remains fairly true to the original, which I love, so give this a listen.

SONG: RISE AGAINST - FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH

Sky Eats Airplane - Nookie

This totally reminds me of elementary/middle school. I think Nookie is the best song Sky Eats Airplane could've picked to cover. Instead of completely hardcore-ifying it like all these covers we've been seeing this year, they keep the song's same personality while adding a little SEA twist to it. Definitely one of the better covers this year.

Killswitch Engage - Reckoning

Killswitch Engage has released their first single off of their new S/T record, due out June 30th. It is safe to say I am totally pumped for this new Killswitch album. If this album turns out ot be As Daylight Dies 2, I am totally okay with that. Click the link, drop in an e-mail and download the song!

Confide - Such Great Heights

The fad of cover songs just keeps chugging along. Confide hops on board with this cover of The Postal Service's Such Great Heights. One of the better cover songs I've heard in a while. They made it their own while still keeping the feel of the original. Check it out.

Isles & Glaciers - Demos

Jonny and Vic and Craig, oh my!

I have high, high hopes for Isles & Glaciers. Originally, I feared that there would not be enough microphone to go around, but these demos have me excited for the release. For those unfamiliar with the supergroup, the line-up consists of:
Vocals - Craig Owens (Chiodos/CinSun)
Vocals - Jonny Craig (Emarosa)
Vocals/Guitars - Vic Fuentes (Pierce The Veil)
Vocals/Guitars - Nick Martin (Underminded/CinSun)
Guitars/Programming - Brian Southall (TREOS/The Company We Keep)
Bass - Matt Goddard (Chiodos)
Drums - Mike Fuentes (Pierce The Veil)
On to the songs. These demos come from a radio interview of Craig and Brian promoting the group a few months back, where they were described as "unfinished, unmastered songs." Nonetheless, these tracks will give listeners a good feel of what to expect from I&G.

"Hills Like White Elephants" intros with Bone Pallace Ballet-era Chiodos-type music. The song shows the best use of the multiple vocalists, switching between piercing Craig to strained Jonny effortlessly. Nick and Vic take turns on the two breakdowns, which features the most screaming of the three tracks. My second favorite song of the bunch.

"Empty Sighs and Wine" is a BEAST. Great jamming guitar intro leads into awesome programming, courtesy of Southall (his involvement is what makes me believe this group has a chance at greatness). Jonny's vocals are strong here in strained and R&B forms, backed by Craig and Vic harmonies for extra-amazingness. The driving chorus seals the deal; it's sure to be a fan-favorite.

"Clush" gives Vic a chance to lead the vocals in what sounds like the most unfinished track. Craig hits new highs in the chorus, perfectly offset by Nick's screams before the Jonny breakdown. I'll waive judgement until a mastered version appears.

Take these demos as a teaser, because the final product could be much different. Even now, I recommend getting these songs in a high-quality format when they're released; there is too much going on to enjoy in a low-quality rip. Until the band decides to release a finished product, or even a release date, these will have to suffice. Enjoy.

Ace Enders & A Million Different People - Bittersweet Symphony

Ace Enders must have sent out thousands of texts to make this happen. This cover of The Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony" has more guest vocals than the entire last Say Anything album. Singers include:
Mark Hoppus - blink-182
Craig Owens - Chiodos/Cinematic Sunrise
Matt Thiessen - Relient K
Kenny Vasoli - The Starting Line/Person L
Alex Gaskarth - All Time Low
Duane Okun - Socratic
Bryce Avery - The Rocket Summer
Ace Enders- Ace Enders/The Early November
Maybe you'll be able to pick out the voices better than me, because all I can hear is Ace and Craig. If you enjoy the song, go buy it for a dollar on iTunes. All proceeds go to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.

Emery - Curbside Goodbye

Quite a few fans abandoned Emery after their 2007 release I'm Only A Man, not liking their change to more structured and accessible songwriting. Last year, the band started migrating back to what made them famous, incorporating more screams and power into them via their 2008 EP, While Broken Hearts Prevail. Here we have "Curbside Goodbye," the second song released from their upcoming album ...In Shallow Seas We Sail. The band has reached a happy medium between catchy hooks and their roots, as heard in the song. I have high hopes for the new album.

Check out the song, buy the album it releases June 2nd, and definitely check these guys out on their summer tour. As Matrocksteady previously reported, the other bands participating are killer. Full tour schedule can be found on his post.

SONG: EMERY - CURBSIDE GOODBYE

PS. If you haven't seen the album artwork for ...In Shallow Seas We Sail or While Broken Hearts Prevail, I highly suggest you check them out here and here. Very cool stuff.
