For Fans Of: Snowing, Castevet, Algernon Cadwallader
My Heart To Joy (formerly My Heart To Joy At The Same Tone) have moved away from the more aggressive screamo-orientated sound on their EP and instead decided to settle down a path leaning more towards indie influences, playing the midwest emo sound made famous by bands like Cap'n Jazz except slightly heavier than their contemparies. Instrumentally they're really impressive, particularly some of the drum fills, I kind of wish I could play the drums like that. If I played drums, that is. I don't. Regardless, another thing I really like about this is how they transition between tracks. It just works and the flow of the album is pretty much perfect. So yes, if you dig that whole indie/emo stuff then give it a try. And if you don't? Well then you suck and should just check it out anyway - and Castevet too while you're at it. I'm forcing you to like this stuff.
