Hunab Ku - The Gaze Inward (2008)

Genre: Avant-garde/Experimental/Metal
Website: Myspace
For Fans Of: Lye By Mistake, Psyopus, The Dillinger Escape Plan

I honestly have no idea how to go about describing the 23 minutes or so of madness that makes up The Gaze Inside. Seriously, it's just.. ridiculous. It's easy to tell that the band were heavily influenced by The Dillinger Escape Plan's criminally short Irony Is A Dead Scene EP which featured the one and only Mike Patton in all his madness. Really, the band have just built on the sound of that EP and, well, there you have it. There are whacky circus antics, electronic bits and the odd falsetto vocals in there (obvious Mike Patton worship here) and they even add a slice of death metal into it too. Wonderful. If you fancy listening to some crazy noisy stuff filled with manic twists and turns that's just plain odd, then by all means give it a try.
