Echo Screen Drop New EP August 4th

While that may not mean much to any of you, it actually means a lot to me. These guys weren't along for long enough to get the pop-punk credit they deserve. Their only full length, Euphoria, was released in 2006, and had one of the catchiest songs on it that I've ever heard, "This Letter Bomb". It has catchy and witty lyrics, and a pop punk guitar line to kill it all. These guys all went their separate ways because they were just trying to start their real lives, so this new EP is going to be something I pick up and obsess over because they were a big part of me during high school. The EP was produced by Ace Enders and will also include some extra demo, live and cover song goodies along with 5 brand new tracks from the boys. Ace had this to say:

"I liked them a lot because they weren't into sticking to just one thing or type of music," said Enders of Echo Screen in a recent interview with The Aquarian. "They're all about making what feels right and what they're into and what's going to be best for the songs. I like when bands have an open mind and aren't worried about trends".

The EP will be entitled Goodbye Old Life and will be released on their own record label, ES Music.

Misc News

The Dear Hunter
will release Act III: Life and Death on June 23rd. I love the Dear Hunter and can't wait to listen to this next installment! It is going to be epic.

Miss May I will release their debut album, Apologies Are For The Weak, also on June 23rd. This is one of my most anticipated albums of 2009. I can't wait to see what these guys can do.
Pre-order it here!

Maylene and the Sons of Disaster will also drop a new album on June 23rd which is straight up titled III. No bullshitting there! I loved II so I'm excited to see how III is.

Augusts Burns Red's new album Constellations is due out July 14! Really excited to hear what these guys cooked up... although I hope they have some big surprises in store for us.

Winds of Plague is recording their next album titled The Great Stone War, which should be due out late this year.

Speaking of Winds of Plauge, The Summer Slaughter tour has tickets on sale for this years tour. Some really great bands this year. I am most exicted to see Born Of Osiris and Winds of Plauge.

Also the Warped Tour lineup this year is amazing in my opinion...so many solid bands I am going to have a headache deciding where to go next. 3OH!3, A Day to Remeber, Alexisonfire, Attack Attack, Chiodos, The Devil Wears Prada, Escape The Fate, I Set My Friends On Fire, P.O.S, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Underoath and loads more! Ahh!
