Touche Amore - Touche Amore (2008)

Genre: Melodic Hardcore/Screamo
Website: Myspace
For Fans Of: Comadre, Lewd Acts, Sabertooth Zombie

Touche Amore are a band that hail from the likes of Los Angeles that successfully bridge the gap between melodic hardcore and a more screamo-influenced hardcore sound. They've really been growing on me quite a lot lately, particularly since I took the time to read their lyrics, I really like them. Also this EP has a song called 'Hipsterectomy' on it. I just sat there for a good 5 minutes staring at it and thinking goddamnit why didn't I come up with that song title? If you liked their full-length then check this out and vice-versa if you end up liking this. This is hardcore as I feel it should be done.

Touché Amoré - ...To The Beat Of A Dead Horse (2009)

Genre: Screamo/Hardcore
Website: Myspace
For Fans Of: Comadre, Loma Prieta, Sabertooth Zombie

Touche Amore (or Touché Amoré?) are a screamo band from.. well, I'm not sure where they're from and I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'm sure it's somewhere pretty shitty judging by the bands general pessimism and negative outlook. Either way, they are very passionate about their music with deep, meaningful lyrics and a really quite impressive drummer - skramz seems to be a genre with an abundance of awesome drummers. The album also features guest vocals from Thursday's Geoff Rickly and also Modern Life Is War's John Elch, which are really well integrated and sound great. So as it turns out, this is a great debut album from these guys and well worth checking out if you're a screamo fan. And if not, well, become a screamo fan already, it's like one of my favourite genres. Ever. Yeah, I just spelt 'favourite' with a 'u', that's totally controversial, right?
