For Fans Of: Meet Me In St. Louis, The Fall of Troy, Thrice
Blakfish are an intelligent band that actually realise what it takes to make waves. With their first release, See You In Another City, they've written songs that walk the line between dissonance and catchiness (point of reference: "My Stomach Feels Like My Throat's Been Cut"), making their music - a genre they market as "death pop" - remarkably accessible in terms of post-hardcore. They've got it all: the harmonies of Thrice; the disjointed technicality of Meet Me In St. Louis; the spazziness of early Fall of Troy; yet their sound is unique and indisputably their own. In essence, here are five tracks that are fucking enjoyable.
Earlier this year, the band released their debut album, Champions.
