I Would Set Myself On Fire For You - Believes In Patterns (2006)

Genre: Screamo/Experimental
Website: Myspace
For Fans Of: Portrait, Saetia, Circle Takes The Square

I Would Set Myself On Fire For You were a band from Atlanta, Georgia that played a very experimental form of screamo, they fused all sorts of other genres into their sophomore album Believes In Patterns, mainly through the use of less commonly used instruments. And by that I'm pretty much just referencing the viola player. Yeah, the viola player. There are also all sorts of dual or triple or however many goddamn vocalists you want to sing vocal harmonies being used. When I say harmonies I don't really mean harmonies, since most of the time it's kind of not so much harmonising as singing/screaming alongside each other. But it's pretty cool. Just so you know. Oh and there are some pretty female vocals too, not to mention noisy sections and folky sections and sections with odd time signatures and what have you. Yeah, you get the idea. Does that sound interesting to you? Yes? Well then check it out.
