Eleventh He Reaches London - Hollow Be My Name (2009)

Genre: Post-Hardcore/Progressive
Website: Myspace
For Fans Of: Tangled Thoughts Of Leaving, These Hands Could Seperate The Sky, Quiet Steps

Eleventh He Reaches London are a band that doesn't really fit into any particular genre. They sort of combine post-rock along with a heavier post-hardcore sound and then folky bits and prog rock bits and it's kind of all over the place. Don't get me wrong though - despite my inadequate description Hollow Be My Name doesn't come off as a mess of influences. It flows throughout, building up one sound which then segues into another and just comes across as a really interesting piece of music. The lyrics are concerned with pointing the blame at whoever they can, namely the government or God, blaming them for the misery of the story's protagonist. I would try and describe the vocals but he really does switch it up throughout, there are spoken words parts, screamed bits, wavering singing - it's kind of all there. So yeah, if you fancy a really interesting, unique listen then give it a try.
