For Fans Of: Kidcrash, Refused, At The Drive-In
Seven Segment Decoder is a really progressive hardcore album (and I mean really progressive) with nods towards the more intense Refused-esque post-hardcore sound but with lots of ambient, spacy interludes and almost post-rockish sections. Sounds intriguing, doesn't it? It's structured really progressively, with really complex layering of guitars and just gives off a really experimental vibe. My only real issue with the album is the length as at over an hour long it's a bit much, although it does generally manage to keep your attention throughout, however I do think maybe they could have cut down on some of the ambient sections. Either way, despite the feeling of overindulgence, it's still a really interesting listen and is also pretty damn impressive from a musical perspective. Definitely worth your time.
