Needless to say, pg.99 (or pageninetynine), were one of the greatest screamo (or skramz if you really want to use that term) bands of all time. In my opinion their magnum opus was Document #8, however this release is almost on the same level of sheer awesomeness. The band had a seemingly constant rotation of members, usually around 8 of them (I'm not too sure why, I guess to make more noise?) and were well renowned for their incredibly energetic and furious live show. Musically the album is really quite chaotic, with grind passages thrown in there and all sorts. It also includes the surprisingly poetic lyrics that are common in the genre - on this release they focus upon organised religion of the modern day and how much of a joke it is, with one of the album's highlights being the song My Application To Heaven, particularly the blistering scream of "fuck you Jesus!" Yeah, it rules. Also, is it just me or does the last 11 minute long track sound really quite creepy? Well, I get a creepy vibe from it anyway. Pg.99 also went on to form a whole plethora of other bands when they quit who are also pretty awesome and definitely worth checking out.
