While Killswitch isn't exactly a metalhead's favorite band, I sure do enjoy them. Some people think their shit isn't heavy enough, but whatever, I dig it for sure. I grew up listening to this band from freshman year of high school onward. I remember one of my friends burned me a disc with a bunch of metal songs on it during sophomore year and it had a few Killswitch on it along with a Children of Bodom and Shadows Fall song (that I can recall at this point). Anywho, Killswitch has a very normal, everyday approach to playing metalcore , but I really think Howard Jones makes them what they are. The guitar work is fucking awesome in my opinion and does a great job at being technical yet catchy and shows great mastering of the instrument, but Howard's voice does this band so much justice. I do enjoy their first two albums w/o him, but they're just not the same. He really rounds out the group for me.
