The Rocket Summer - Headline Tour

The Rocket Summer is headlining again on tour with Phantom Planet, The Secret Handshake, and The Morning Light. I went two weeks ago when they came into Chicago, and, frankly it was the greatest concert I've ever been to. I'm slightly biased of course (and no offense to all of the awesome concerts I've been to with Andy, haha) because The Rocket Summer is one of my all time favorite bands, and when paired with Phantom Planet, come on, damn. And a little fun fact, the music video for California, the O.C. theme song for which Phantom Planet is so widely known, was filmed partly in The Metro which is where this concert was so the band got a little nostalgic; it was really cool. Anyway the concert was great, Bryce (the one-man-band that is The Rocket Summer) gave his bandmates a break and played a new song he had written on the tour, playing and then looping drums, bass, piano, and then guitar all on his own, only to be joined by everyone else on the tour for a huge musical party. The power of music never ceases to amaze me.
