LOOK!

Proof Billie Joe takes it up the butt.
"Epic," "Punk," and "Opera" don't go in the same sentence. Ever.

[FUCK THIS] ALBUM: GREEN DAY - 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN

I promise I won't make fun of Green Day again. ...for a decent period of time at least.

SHUT UP!

Although I do enjoy that he recognizes we are in a worse situation right now with Obama than we were with Bush. Still not diggin' 21st Century Breakdown and I listened to it again.

Green Day- 21st Century Breakdown [2009] [ADVANCE]

I'm going to start by stating that I dislike this album. As much as I dislike American Idiot, if not more. Actually, I'm pretty sure I dislike it more. Green Day has brought hypocrite to a whole new level with their music. Let me say it this way: back in the day, they were singing "I've got no motivation" and now they're calling for revolution? Now, I understand over the past decade they've decided they need to be politically fueled and such, but I find their mid-tempo, mediocre, used-to-be-but-isn't-anymore pop punk to be bland and over produced. My problem lies in their lyrical content. I don't think that someone making as much money as they do should be shouting about revolution in any manner. CEO's of companies don't call for revolution.

The music is epic and has many 'landscapes' and all that heeba jeeba, and it's a very grandiose album, but it's not for me. I think they've brought 'sold out' to a whole new level, beyond even Fall Out Boy. Not to mention the album just drones on for EIGHTEEN tracks. It's over an hour long of mid-tempod bullshit. Drives me up a wall.

I know it's going to sell well, and I know a lot of people are going to like it, but as for me, I'll pass. If you dig it, I'm glad. But I sure won't rotate this record more than a few more times before I feel like puking.
