For Fans Of: Sunset Rubdown, Yeasayer, Cymbals Eat Guitars
Ok, so this is easily one of my top picks of 2009. I definitely didn't "get it" at first, but once you give it a real listen, it's an experience to say the least. Unlike the majority of the stuff I've been listening to lately, this album is based on the atmosphere it creates, rather than technical instrumentation. If you've never tried something like this, I would assume it would be a good introduction. Either way, this one is a must-hear in my book.
