For Fans Of: Animal Collective, The Beach Boys, The Arcade Fire
Every self-respecting hipster knows of Noah Lennox - otherwise known as Panda Bear - and his work with the legendary Animal Collective, but very few realise he has been writing and performing his own solo material since 1998 (I know, I know... the insolence is astounding). Person Pitch, his third effort, is... well, hard to describe. It still retains the electronic influence that dominates his other projects, but it sounds incredibly rich and organic; unproduced harmonies, bright melodies, hand claps/simple percussion and various samples (the kids screaming during the middle of "Bros" is epic) all lend themselves to a very natural aesthetic. Listening to this is an overwhelmingly joyous experience which I highly recommend.
