Mutiny on the Bounty - Danger Mouth (2009)

Genre: Post-Hardcore/Math Rock/Indie
Website: Myspace
For Fans Of: BlakFish, At The Drive-In, Maps And Atlases

Mutiny on the Bounty are a really quite interesting post-hardcore group that hail from the likes of Luxembourg (yeah, I can't say I've heard of any other bands from Luxembourg either). Danger Mouth is their debut release in which I can hear a lot of At The Drive-In influences, along with math rock leanings that are prevalent in the technical guitar lines which are pretty much dominant throughout. From a vocal point of view they switch between clean and yelled parts, standard affair really for post-hardcore, however it's instrumentally where the band truly shine - the instrumental tracks are fantastic and just generally the band show great talent, although once more I have to praise the guitarwork, it's really quite awesome. On the whole this is an exceptionally solid debut release from an almost totally unknown band, something definitely worth giving a listen to.
