I can't hate a band who's lead singer's name is Yannis. That's just too awesome to pass up. But, beyond an awesome name for their lead singer, Foals bring a really fresh, upbeat approach to the dance-punk genre. They incorporate math-rock guitars with great effects beautifully. It's a band that truly takes time to soak in all the complexities and beautiful landscapes within their dance party of an album. I'm also a sucker for english accents in vocals, especially Yannis'. And I'm not the only one jizzing my pants listening to these guys, all over the blogging world they have been hailed as one of the best up and coming acts. Except pitchfork...but fuck pitchfork, they don't like anyone. The best part is that I have the limited edition one here for you, so it has the 4 bonus tracks (and 4 live tracks) too, including my favorite Foals' track, "Mathletics". Really great guitar work and the vocal line fits it perfectly. I am really looking forward to a follow up from these guys.
