Reggie's Rock Club - Chicago
Last night The Clergymen (Our friend Neil's band.) played their first Chicago gig at a venue on the edge of China Town called Reggie's Rock Club. The show was awesome: a four-band line up featuring a couple great local bands - The Clergymen, Under an Indigo Sun, Chicago Green (Who is actually going on a 7-week European tour at the end of the month.), and one other who's name I can't remember. Style-wise though, it was a bunch of different sounds -- pop-rock, jazz, and experimental-rock -- which made for a really awesome line. Check these bands out they're great.
And the venue, damn. Kind of like a miniature House of Blues Orlando, Reggie's boasts a huge first floor space with a bar on the back wall (Awesome food...AND CHEEEAAP.), and an upstairs with big chairs and tables. And being that we were "with the band" as it were, we got to check out the v.i.p area that over looks the stage on the left and right and also the green room downstairs. Dance Gavin Dance just posted a concert at Reggie's for May 6th. So pumped. But yeah give the bands a listen and keep a lookout for them.
